Hello, friends!

Welcome to The Recipe Legacy Project! This blog was created because of my love of history, family genealogy and old community spiral bound cookbooks. I'm glad to have you here!

Hi, I'm Lona!
(Rhymes with Donna)

As a 40 something, I decided to go back to college and get my Master's degree in History. I work full time and often work out of town away from home. I needed something fun (and meaningful) to unwind, so I started this project.

I live in Ohio with my husband, our 8 houseplants and kitty who has 3 names. We found him abandoned at a train station. I named him Boomer, my husband named him Sam, and my aunt calls him TSK (train station kitty).

I'm a child of the 80's and 90's and I'm a huge fan of nostalgia, history and genealogy. I also have an excessive adoration of pro wrestling. I've started more blogs than I can count. I'm working on a quilt so I can finally submit something to a county fair (why that's on my bucket list, I'll never know).

I've always had a fascination with old spiral bound church/organization cookbooks with recipes submitted by women I wish I could have met in their lifetimes. Their recipes are part of their legacy and I'm here to share them. I wish I could find one with my family members' recipes inside, but until I do, I will happily extend the legacy for others!
